Colophospermum mopane
Prized for it's tonal qualities and it's stability ( T/R ratio only 1.3) although it's hardness makes work difficult it behaves well under tools and has a very attractive figure, Commonly used for woodwind instruments. Not rare or threatened and with no known toxicity issues these blanks are ethically sourced from the Dalmann Sawmill in Mozambique.
