An African Accacia, this timber is very dense, and close grained, it's hardness does make it harder to work but it does seem to cut plane and machine very cleanly without any tear out, it's so close grained it should come to a high finish and be very hard wearing. 

Blanks are 70-75mm wide and about 9mm thick
