Dark African wood, very dense very hard difuse porous I would recommend giving this one a try, I'm waitinbg for someone to send a finished photo but I've seen it polished in bowls and Bagpipes and it is stunning. However very attractive and for the adventurous it provides a low(er) cost and sustainable alternative to the black woods such as Ebony.
